Berrefonds is a compassionate nonprofit organization that supports parents with “Treasure Boxes” when the unthinkable happens.
Initially, the organization focused solely on parents who lost a child during or shortly after pregnancy. Since then, a Treasure Box for the loss of young children has also been developed. The suitcase contains various items that allow parents to preserve their last tangible, cherished memories of their beloved child: tiny clothes, bracelets, handprints, stuffed animals, a small blanket, and more. Even after those first days and weeks of confusion, the suitcase can offer support.
Berrefonds is located in Antwerp, and the personalized support for families (open house, support groups, activities, etc.) is primarily provided in Dutch.
